Most of the time, you should just be able to plug in your iPhone to your Mac computer, and the option to import photos will automatically pop up. It is usually the Photos application on your Mac that will give you the option to add your phone pictures to the cloud.
Sometimes, this process is only allowed if you have enough storage available on either your computer’s hard drive or your Apple iCloud account (the cloud storage system for Apple). If you don’t you may have trouble importing the files, especially if you have a large number of photos.
If this is the case, an alternative could be to use some sort of storage software, such as Google Photos or DropBox, to directly upload your photos to the cloud. Then, you can log into your Google or DropBox account from your computer and open the files that you need that have synced through the internet.
