When somebody says that they are “just peachy”, it means they are great, good, fine, dandy, excellent, wonderful and so on.

If somebody says to you “I’m just peachy” you can respond to this person in various ways, such as:

  • Glad to hear it.
  • Great, I’m happy for you.
  • I’m glad you are feeling better.
  • Fantastic!
  • Great!
That’s great to hear, I’m in a good mood too.
  • It’s going to be a good day.

On the other hand, if somebody says the expression “just peachy” in a sarcastic tone, it means they are not fine or good. For example, if somebody is obviously stressed and you ask them how they are, they might reply with “just peachy”. They are being sarcastic here as it is pretty obvious that they are not fine and are not having a very good day.

  • I’m sorry to hear that.
  • Is there anything I can do to help?
  • I think you should take a break and relax for a while.
  • You don’t need to be sarcastic about it, I was just asking to see how you are.
  • What’s wrong?
  • Is it that bad?
  • Let me help you.
  • Don’t worry, we’ll fix it together.
