How can I use aloof in English sentence?
1. She’s going to aloof FROM me as she’s taking higher studies soon
or 2. She’s going to aloof WITH me as she’s taking higher studies soon.
Whish is right? Can you please clear my doubt?
Aloof is an adjective.
It means distant, disinterested, not friendly.
Thus, it’s better to say:
She’s going to become aloof (from me) as she’s taking higher education studies soon.
or
She’s going to act aloof (from me) as she’s taking higher education studies soon.
BUT in most cases we use this adjective without any propositions:
She’s being aloof.
She’s becoming aloof.
She’s going to become aloof as she’s taking higher education studied soon.
P.S. We use aloof in such expressions as: to be aloof, to become aloof, to act aloof.
