Difference between Cafe Restaurant and Bistro

Everyone knows what a restaurant is: a place where meals and drinks are served to the public. But what exactly is a bistro?
Bistros are just like restaurants, but they are generally smaller and more informal, which makes them popular with young people. Another thing why you might want to visit one is that they are not as expensive as restaurants.

  • We ate at a bistro downtown. The stew was delicious.
  • Mathieu showed me the best bistros in the district.

Cafés, on the other hand, don’t usually serve proper meals. In a café, you can get refreshments and simple food such as sandwiches or baked goods. And of course, coffee.

  • This is the café we used to go to after school with my friends.
  • There are plenty of Starbucks cafés in London.
