Actually, both of these forms of the verb “to have” is correct.

Depending on the context, you could use either one. The difference comes when you choose which verb form you want to use. When you use the perfect verb tenses, you are trying to talk about a completed or finished actions.

In this case, the right form of the helping verb (to have) depends on whether or not the action was already completed in the past, completed in the present, or will be completed in the future. For the first two options, you can choose either of the forms of the verbs that you have above.

Using “had” would be appropriate for past perfect, or things that have already been finished. Using “has” would be appropriate for present perfect, or things that are finishing now.
