When talking about somebody in English, it doesn’t matter if they are nearby or not. The only way you can refer to a third person is by using their name or a pronoun:
- This is Clive.
- He’s from the UK.
- His surname is Owen.
- I love him.
- I’m Clive’s greatest fan.
- This house is his.
- This is Emma.
- She was born in France.
- Her surname is Watson.
- I love her.
- I’m Emma’s greatest fan.
- This house is hers.
