Let’s start with live. Generally live is a verb and it is an action.
This means to be alive or have vital organ functions.

  • He lives a healthy lifestyle.
  • The verb to live also means to stay in the same home or reside somewhere.
  • She lives in Los Angeles.
  • I live in Brazil.

The word live is also an adjective. The pronunciation changes when this happens and the vowel (i) becomes a long vowel sound similarly to the word like.

When using this word as an adjective, the definition means being alive.

  • He brought live animals to show the class.

The word live could also mean not recorded for media productions.

  • We are coming to you live from Iraq where the insurgents made the attack.

 

The word life is a noun.
Life is what makes itself different from non-living things.

  • Animals are considered to be a part of life, whereas rocks are not.

The famous song by Opus is ‘Live is life’.
Maybe ‘Life is live’ would make more sense?
