Wish you A or – Happy Holidays

Could you please suggest which of the following sentences is correct:
a. I wish you a happy holidays.
b. I wish you happy holidays.

The correct sentence is: I wish you Happy Holidays.

This is because we use the article a/an for singular nouns. The first sentence would be correct if you said I wish you a happy holiday. This is referring to one holiday such as Christmas or New Year’s Eve for example.

Whereas I wish you Happy Holidays is referring to the holiday season as a whole; Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve for example.

As you can see, Happy Holidays is capitalised as it is a holiday phrase, other holiday phrases include Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy Easter, etc.
