These two are very, very similar but just slightly different!
All coworkers are colleagues but not all colleagues are coworkers.
Let me explain.
- If I work with James at the same company and see him every day then he is my coworker.
- However, Sarah works at the same company but I don’t work directly with her. She is a colleague.
So coworkers are people that you directly work with and perhaps have a personal relationship with whereas a colleague is someone that you don’t see a lot, however you know they work at the same place as you.
