Adept – When somebody or something is very gifted or efficient at doing something.
She is adept at making things easy.
The doctor was adept at making us feel calm.
Adapt – To make someone or something suitable for a certain task or environment.
It can be very difficult to adapt to new environments.
Being able to adapt is a great quality to have.
Adopt – To take something or someone on as your own responsibility or property.
Millie’s parents died when she was young but some people decided to adopt her.
He started to adopt the principles of the Dalai Lama.
