GET OFF vs GET OUT OF

You can get off a train, a bike or a horse, AFTER you’ve got on.
You can get out of the car, AFTER you’ve got in.

  • The horse was too tall, so I couldn’t get on.
  • He got off his bike and walked  across  the road. Don’t ever get in a stranger’s car.
  • You mustn’t  get out of the car while it’s moving.
