Transform the sentence.
The as/as structure is often used together with an adjective to compare two things or people:
- Benedict Cumberbatch isn’t as handsome as Brad Pitt.

However, it is also possible to use as/as the following way:
as + adjective + clause (subject +verb)
For example:
- It isn’t as bad as it looks.
- Does this cupcake taste as good as it looks?
- We didn’t get as far as I thought we would.
- Learning English isn’t as difficult as you think.
This structure can be used to transform the sentence “He is very handsome but he isn’t very clever.” the following way:
- He isn’t as clever as he is handsome.
