Should I use unfold further, or further unfold?

Should I use unfold further, or further unfold? Further unfold rolls off the tongue a bit easier I think.

For me, these two phrases have a slightly different meaning. Both are grammatically correct, so when you use each one depends more on the context than how it sounds. The difference is minimal, so if you used them interchangeably that would not be a problem.

When you talk about a situation, I would use unfold further. This is because the main verb is unfold, and how it unfolds is added at the end. If you are talking about a physical object that unfolds, like a rug, it would make sense to say that the rug further unfolds.

Other English speakers might have a different opinion, but again, the difference between the phrases is basically nothing. You could really use either one, just depending on what you feel suits your sentence better.
