THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘GIVE IT TO ME’ AND ‘GIVE IT FOR ME’.
The difference between these two is that one is grammatically correct and the other is incorrect. You CANNOT say ‘give it for me’.
You can say ‘give it to me’ when you are asking someone to verbally or physically pass something to you.
Here are some examples:
– John could you give the newspaper to your father please?
– Harry, could you give the keys to Sarah please?
– Give the contract to me please, so I can sign it.
– Okay, I’m ready for the results, whether it’s good or bad. Give it to me.

If you wanted to use ‘FOR’, you could say ‘get it for me’. In this context, you would be asking someone to collect, obtain, or retrieve something for you.
– Could you get some milk from the shop for me please?
– Could you get the wedding invitations from Sarah’s house for me please?
– Get some balloons for Sally’s party please!
