When should I use mayor might be able to + base form of the verb and may or might + base form?

Whenever you use might or may you are saying that you are not completely certain, but there is a possibility of something happening.

  • I might be able to take you to the shops on Friday.
  • It may rain later.
  • It might be cold later, you should bring a coat.
  • It may be that I’m too busy to help you later, but I will do my best.

 

So whenever you are saying something of which you are not 100 percent certain, use may or might to make sure you aren’t speaking with too much certainty!

The difference between saying I will be able to take you to the station and I might be able to take you to the station is massive!
