I like this quote a lot because it’s so visual. Imagine negative thoughts wearing dirty, black clothes and positive ones dressed in lovely, colourful silk. One must agree with Goethe. I have developed a much greater understanding and appreciation of my mother tongue since I learnt how to speak some other languages. While learning a foreign language, you also learn how your own language works as opposed to the foreign one.
