1. When did you start teaching English and Why?
I started teaching English in 2008, just after I took my first masters degree at the university of Nottingham, I had some Turkish friends there and they convinced me I should go to Istanbul and try my hand at teaching…so I took a TEFL course and moved out there…
2. Is teaching English your main job? If not what is it?
Teaching is my main job, apart from the last academic year when I moved back to England from China to take a Masters of Research course…
3. What are you doing when you don’t teach people? What are your hobbies?
When I am not teaching I spend a lot of time preparing lessons and developing myself professionally, and I still have my research interests to take care of…other than that you can find me in the local gym..
4. What do you like?
I like many things, especially the way that being an English teacher allows me to live around the world and learn about new countries and nationalities…
5. What don’t you like?
I don’t like a lot of things, but I had better not mention them here…my politics might not interest you..
6. Can you describe a typical day in your life?
A typical day involves me waking up at 7, either going to the gym or preparing lessons and arranging my teaching schedule…which can mean travelling all over the city to people’s homes and offices, no such thing as an a typical day i am afraid…
7. What is your favorite drink and food?
My favourite food and drink is the food and drink of the country I live in at the moment…which right now is Hungarian…especially Hungarian wine…
8. Share with us the funniest thing that has happened to you in your life.
I can’t tell you the funniest thing or things, because they are not suitable for a public forum…but rest assured, drink was involved..
