I know that “I have graduated (from University)” is grammatically correct, but I am not so sure about “I’m graduated” and “I graduated”…
is this also grammatically correct? I am very confused about this issue because I have heard many native English speakers use all of those forms.
As a native speaker, I would never say “I’m graduated” instead I would say “I have graduated” or “I’ve graduated” for short.
It depends on the context though, here are a few examples:
I graduated from college in 1989 but I didn’t get my first job until 1991.
A: Hey James, how are you doing now?
B: Not bad thanks! You?
A: Good! Yeah I’m great thanks, how’s university?
B: I’ve graduated! I graduated in May!
A: Wow, time has flown by!
