What does MILF mean?

Got MILF?  Nope, I didn’t mean MILK!

Depending on where you are in the world and what you are talking about, this acronym could have many meanings.

In the Philippines, MILF stands for “MORO” Islamic Liberation Front. This is a group based in Mindanao that is seeking an autonomous region for the “MORO” people from the central government.

However, in mainstream society, this term has a very different meaning. This term originally appeared in a 1995 USNET post and its vulgar, boorish, uncouth and rudely funny meaning is

fornicate, copulate with, fool around with, or fuck. 

The term was dormant until it resurfaced and was popularized in the popular 1999 movie “American Pie”.

Besides “Mother” other words used are mother, mom, mommy, mama, mamma, momma.

MILF and Cookies

The term MILF is now used widely and the concept is seen in many movies, TV shows  like Desperate Housewives, and even a show called “MILF and Cookies.” 

This is a show produced by Will and Jada Smith whose plot is about a group of sexy single moms all living in the same apartment complex. The show is told through the experiences and observations of the buildings hawkish security guard.

Cougar

There is another term that is often mixed up with MILF and that is “Cougar.” MILF’s are mothers who young men find attractive because of their youngish demeanor and look.

On the other hand, a Cougar is a little different, well a lot different. Cougars are women who are for the most part over the age of 40, attractive, and not looking for a long-term relationship. As with real-life cougars, these women are known to “hunt and prey” on younger men. 

Milf vs Cougars

Whereas MILF does not seek the title, Cougars do. Cougars have pride in their ability to attract and have their “boy toys.” Although calling some women a “Cougar” can be considered a bad or a derogatory term, today we find many TV shows and movies that glorified and popular. 

We see many dating websites where older women are looking for younger men, and many younger men looking for that mother figure they have never had.

Many say there is a double standard, that is it is ok for men to have younger women and younger women to have their sugar daddies, but not ok for women to have their boy toys and be a Cougar. 

Times, names, and nouns are changing. Hear her roar … not meow.

Why would someone say Milf to someone especially of opposite gender?
